A beautiful Smile for the new School Year

As the children begin the new school year we usually get them ready by taking them for a new haircut or new outfit so they can look their best. One of your child’s most noticeable feature seems to get overlooked, their smile! Usually when we meet people one of the first things we notice about them is their smile. As a parent we want our child to walk around with a positive self image, and having a nice smile is one of the best ways to create that. The mouths of school age children are changing, with baby teeth being lost and permanent teeth coming in.  Did you know tooth decay is the most chronic childhood disease and if left untreated can interfere with the way your child eats, speaks, sleeps and learns?  This is why being back at school is the perfect time to establish a daily oral hygiene routine. This routine should include brushing twice a day and flossing at least once per day. Encourage your child to pack a toothbrush and toothpaste with them so they can brush after they have eaten.  Visiting the dentist twice a
