Studies have linked periodontal disease with the development of cardiovascular problems. Research has also found oral bacteria to be linked to heart disease, artery blockage and stroke. So the question is what can you do to maintain overall health? Brush your teeth twice a day. Clean between your teeth with floss. Make sure your dental products have the ADA seal on them. Eat a balanced diet. The most important of all is to schedule regular dental check-ups. Professional cleaning is the only way to remove tartar, which traps plaque and bacteria under the gum line. Since your mouth is a window into the health of your, body it is very important to maintain a good oral hygiene routine.
