How to Care for your Toothbrush

As part of our daily personal hygiene routine we should all be brushing our teeth. Our toothbrush plays a very important role in effectively removing plaque from our teeth . That is why it so important to properly take care of our toothbrush. The ADA recommends replacing your toothbrush every 3-4 months or sooner if the bristles become frayed from wear. You should never share your toothbrush with anyone since this can increase your risk for infection. Always thoroughly rinse your toothbrush with tap water to remove any remaining toothpaste and debris. Keeping your toothbrush in a closed moist environment harbors the growth of micro-organisms, that is why it is best to store your toothbrush in an upright position to air dry, never covering it! Be sure to keep your toothbrush separate from others to prevent cross- contamination. Remember to keep your routine dental visits and you will never be without a nice new clean toothbrush! It’s our pleasure to provide you with a complimentary gift bag which includes a toothbrush, floss, toothpaste and whatever products you need to keep your mouth sparkling clean!
