X-rays are a very important tool that is used in helping the doctor detect periodontal disease, abscesses and many abnormal growths, such as cysts and tumors. Your radiographic schedule is based on your individual needs. In most cases a new patient will need a full set of x-rays. This will help the doctor properly diagnose any underlying signs of gum disease, infections and any cavities that may not always be seen by eye only. We as a healthcare provider are very sensitive to our patients concerns about exposure to radiation. At our office we take digital x-rays, the benefit of taking x-rays this way greatly decreases your exposure to radiation. The dental office of Dr. Sophia Nichols  D.M.D. in Brick NJ strive to keep our patients over all health our main priority!
