Why Flossing your Teeth is Important

If you have been listening to the news recently you may have heard that flossing your teeth has no proven benefits. We are here to tell you otherwise! The American Dental Association recommends cleaning between your teeth at least once a day. Whether you use dental floss, a dental pick or tiny brushes to reach between your teeth you are removing plaque and debris that cannot be removed by brushing alone. If this plaque and debris is left on your teeth it increases your risk for tooth decay , gum disease and bad breath. Did you know that gum disease has been linked to numerous diseases such as kidney disease, diabetes and heart disease? Flossing daily not only helps increase your chances of keeping your teeth for life but it also helps keep you healthy! So please continue to brush and floss your teeth the benefits are great!
